Cléa van der Grijn (b 1967 Dublin ) gained recognition for her textured paintings, pieces that emerged from a sustained physical engagement with materials. Since graduation with a Fine art honours degree from The National College of Art and Design, Van der Grijn has employed various mediums including site specific installations, film, large format photography, collaborative projects drawing and painting.
Van der Grijn has mounted over 20 solo shows nationally and internationally, as well as numerous group exhibitions; She has realisedl many private and public commissions and her work is part of numerous private and public collections world wide.
Van der Grijn has received much recognition in the form of grants, bursaries, awards, sponsorships and residencies.
Van der Grijn has held lecture positions for The National Gallery of Ireland, The Hugh Lane Municiple Gallery, IMMA ( The Irish Museum of Modern Art ) amongst other institutes.
